Does MOQ apply per design, per color or per order?
The published policy is per design. A different character or pattern should be listed separately rather than treated as another unit of the first design. For a shared pattern with several colors, ask the factory to confirm the color split, material availability and any minimum for custom dyeing or accessories. Do not assume every proposed color split is accepted.
Give each line a design ID and attach the corresponding artwork. Record the finished size, quantity for that design, colors and quantities per color, fabric, accessories and packaging. This makes the plan reviewable without relying on the total quantity in an email subject line.
How should a two-design order be planned?
This is a quantity-planning example, not a customer case or price offer. Suppose a collection contains two different 25 cm characters. The published tier is 2,400 pieces for each design. If both are planned at that tier, the collection contains 4,800 pieces in total. Ordering 2,400 pieces split equally between those two designs would not meet the published per-design tier.
A 40 cm character uses the 1,200-piece published tier, but changing the size simply to obtain a lower MOQ is not automatically cheaper. Review the unit quotation, shelf space, carton volume, retail positioning and available working capital together. Fewer pieces and a lower total project budget are different outcomes.
Why does MOQ vary between plush projects?
Sampling and pattern preparation, material purchasing, embroidery setup, production organization and packaging can affect the economics of a run. Their effect depends on the specification and factory process. Ask which requirement is constraining your project instead of assuming that MOQ is determined by sewing time alone.
Separate the factory's per-design production minimum from any material, printed-packaging or accessory minimum. If a component requires more pieces than the finished-product order, confirm whether excess stock, storage, payment and future reuse are acceptable. Do not agree to unpriced leftover material as though it were free inventory.
What if my planned quantity is below MOQ?
State the actual quantity and request a feasibility review; do not describe a likely exception as already approved. Alternatives to discuss include launching fewer designs, simplifying the specification or reviewing a different product format. None of these guarantees a lower minimum. A small consumer order and a repeatable bulk-manufacturing program may require different sourcing routes.
A sample can help assess a design before a bulk commitment, but it does not change the published production MOQ. Confirm sample charges, design work, revision rounds, ownership and any credit separately. Meeting MOQ does not automatically make design work or samples free.
Do reorders have the same requirements?
Keep the approved sample, pattern version, material specification, labels and packaging files as a reorder reference. Confirm stock, setup requirements, color matching, quantity and the available production slot again. A previous order is useful context, not a guarantee that every future quantity or delivery date is accepted.
For initial planning, LovelyJoy publishes 7–15 working days for standard sampling and 30–45 days after sample approval for regular production. Add allowances for development, revisions, testing and shipping. Provide the required arrival date rather than assuming that MOQ eligibility also reserves capacity.
